New Heightz Productions [based in New York City, a multi-facet entertainment company for the management and development of independent artists] sponsored the Noche Urbana event at Ibiza Lounge, conveniently located on the Bronx, NY on Thursday, February 21st 2008. With the participation of such artists as
AK Killah,
A_Lopz,
KV,
G-Nnie, and others. Unfortunately,
Ice2blek, one of the artists expected to perform couldn't make it to the event for reasons not disclosed by New Heightz Productions. This event as per described by Anita F López (Manager, NHP) was to establish a reputation for New Heightz Productions and the artists. Although it was not super crowded (Ibiza doesn’t open on Thursdays), there were enough people to see what these artists can bring to the table. The show was open by G-Nnie whom did a dance routine to the song Zun Dada by Zion. AK Killah started with his smash hit Street Gangstah, then followed by A_Lopz who stole the night with her phenomenal performance; KV then followed (First time performing live) in a duo with A_Lopz. After each artist performed their individual songs, then they all gathered and brought it back to the Vieja Escuela performing short versions of the underground songs that started this genre. To finalize their performance they sang the NHP Anthem, Master Cee introduced the artists for this song which was a big plus!
The performance lasted approximately 1 hour and then it was back to partying with DJ Kiko spinning that crazy sound. I interview some of the fans who went to support these up and coming artists and this is what they had to say: “The event truly lived up to its name – a night of urban music with a fresh new flavor!” – Stacy (New York, NY). “Wow, when they sang those old school joint, I was like sh*t, these guys aren’t just newbie. Noche Urbana was an unforgettable night with such great performances and friendly atmosphere at Ibiza Lounge [Bronx, NY]. These up and coming artists demonstrated that they have what it takes to make it in the music industry; Originality, flow & lyrics, style, looks, humbleness and mostly hunger to make it. They proved to all those supporters whom attended the event that their money was worth it!
